When I decided that Whitetail would begin designing its own surfskate decks, Mark was at the top of my potential team rider list. Mark doesn't concern himself with conventions and labels; he skates purely for the love of it, just as I do. Although we have our differences, we both share a passion for great skate design, and our unique perspectives complement each other. This might explain why we make such a great team.
After a year of having him as part of Whitetail's team, I was inspired to express my gratitude for this partnership that has greatly contributed to Whitetail's growth. Mark has been the ideal advocate for the Whaleshark. Not only does he master this board, but his genuine appreciation for it, which he calls his 'Cinderella's slipper,' means the world to me. He sets high standards and wouldn't accept sponsorship from a brand that doesn't meet them, which makes me even prouder that he joined Whitetail.
As a token of my appreciation, I designed a limited run of his very own edition of the Whaleshark. The 'Sockeye Salmon' pays tribute to his creative approach of swimming upstream against conventions, and I've incorporated other drawings that I know he loves. I hope his edition will be the most beautiful skate he has ever seen.
With the real needs and desires of the skaters in the forefront, The Whaleshark SUPREME has been engineered by a professional designer and 10 years of experience surfskater. The idea was to push the boundaries and design a skaters-oriented, high-performing durable deck that offers the most requested features by the current community.

Not recommended for - riders who prefer flat decks and people who want to break their deck and change more often, with its heavy duty construction it’s a board that can last. May not be ideal as a surf trainer, as the deck’s concave and rockers don’t feel like a surfboard. Might not be ideal for very small riders not used to a big deck, check out the FeralCat for a smaller, yet as performant, deck.
